To be Frank

Things to do in Manchester today. But at least it was sunny, and plenty of people about. The refurbished Corn Exchange is going to work  I think - certainly plenty of people enjoying the sunshine outside those eateries which have already opened (see extra).

Before going home I called in at the old Granada Studios. There was an exhibition on the coming St John's Quarter (another extra), but everyone was there for what is described as the North's biggest Art Fair, the Buy Art Fair. Thousands of works for sale spread across two huge galleries, the Manchester Contemporary and a dedicated studio for self represented artists. And talks, tours, workshops and demonstrations. Lots of people there, all very arty. I liked some of it, I didn't like others of it, and I almost bought some fantastic glassware - before I reminded myself that I am not awash with cash ! The blip is a close up of a larger Ole Blue Eyes, entirely made up of UK definitive stamps (thousands of Her Majesty = one Frank !)
