Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

TOADFLAX

The hedgerows are still aglow with flowers and berries. I used to be  familiar with the names of so many wild flowers, but I'm losing it.  Perhaps photographing and naming them here will help me remember?  Anyway, pretty sure this is common toadflax (Linaria vulgaris) but I didn't get down on my knees to check properly.

Hearty walk with the Prof this morning and a tedious afternoon on domestic stuff.  The VIP is away for the September weekend with his other granny so we are unusually free but just a little bit lost without him.  Meanwhile, there is some hearty sawing going on and the final stages of our renovation project is being completed.

UPDATE:  Did not realise until now that this was another milestone.  Maybe I would have blipped something more momentous had I known?  But maybe not. After all, it is the ordinary, everydayness of things that has always fascinated and delighted me.
