Crab apples in abundance

A walk by the Water of Leith today.  Snapped this to show to our son as he planted a crab apple tree in our back garden a couple of years ago, but it hasn't fruited yet.

Extra photo is at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, where I went with friends to hear author Margaret Atwood speak.  She hadn't been scheduled to come to Edinburgh on her book tour, but she got so many people on Twitter asking her that she requested an additional date.
