Bolete

Several of these were growing as a cluster below a tree at the edge of the path in Ayton Wood.  As I write this (26/09/15) all traces of them have now disappeared - probably about a week ago.  I think it's Boletus cisalpinus rather than the Sepia Bolete, but I might be wrong.  It doesn't seem to have a common name, even though it's the commoner of the two.

p.s. having looked at an artists illustration in another field-guide I'm beginning to think it may well be the Sepia Bolete, though in other locations I've found other specimens that show red through the cracks which is more in keeping with Boletus cisalpinus.
