A BIG Noise in Stirling
There was only ever going to be one topic for my blip tonight: the Sistema Venezuala/ Big Noise orchestral concert in the Raploch Estate in Stirling. The Big Noise project is teaching 450 local children to play an orchestral instrument. The project has its roots in Venezuela's el sistema initiative. So, the Simon Bolivar Orchestra from Venezuela, with its amazing conductor Gustavo Dudamel played right here in Stirling tonight, along with the local children. It rained, it poured, but it didn't matter. It was wonderful. And it was the opening event for the London 2012 Festival, supporting the Olympics as part of the cultural Olympiad.
