The Torch
Car parks were filling up. Crowds were building up on the pavement. There was a rumour in a blip journal that The Gem Den was having a half-price sale! The pavement outside The Gem Den had been pre-booked! I couln't believe it!
I had expected to wrap up The Mother in her travel rug and put her wheelchair at the curb just outside the shop where she would have a good position to see the Olympic torch passing through the town while I got on with work until the event was under way.
No chance! I had to take her out down the street to an unreserved bit and just stand around for an hour waiting in what we thought may be a good view point. It wasn't! Folk were able to easily block her view from her sitting position.
Well, there was a lot of noise, a lot of very large vehicles, a lot of police cars and motor bikes and then...

(Checks to see if the flame was actually on the shot!)
