Nursery cove

The first baby seal of the year! I've been checking on the cove most days and today I when I peered down I could see something white far below. It could have been a piece of polystyrene or a cast-up plastic bag but it was wailing like a Siamese cat and there was its mother in the sea  a few yards away, keeping a watchful eye and ear..
In the main image the tiny grain of rice just above the tide line is the seal pup as visible to the naked eye. The two inserts show it and its mother in their respective positions.
It's only a few days later that last year's first baby. A happy arrival - may all go well for it.
