Blowing Off Steam
Well I was down to Tweedbank twice today firstly i jumped on the local Scotrail 10:24 service to Tweedbank which was a two car 158 and it was totally rammed with many folks standing anyway I went to have a chat with my old roster clerk who I was wanting a wee bit of info as my nephew is hoping to become a driver and lives in Tweedbank and i went to see him later in the day to help him with his application to apply for a train drivers job based at Tweedbank with his house just a 4 minute walk from the station which would be really handy for him and for the company if he is fortunate enough to get a position so I hope he is successful in his quest so any help I could give him to get through the application process I was happy to obligewith..
After arriving at Tweedbank and having a quick chat I was able to catch 60009 Union Of South Africa as it continues it's 6 weeks of steam travel down the borders line arriving into platform 2 and this was the scene as it slowly let steam off after arriving at the buffers, then I got the Scotrail train to Galashiels for a wander and lunch so after lunch and a couple of pints of Belhaven Best I made my way back to Tweedbank and met up with my nephew to go through the application process befor jumping on the 20:28 service back to Waverley then my next train home so a very enjoyable day along with Scotland beating Japan at the rugby world cup which I saw the first half in the boozer in Gala anyway that was my day now then movie for the day is 'Steam 2007' Go Big See Ya
