Waiting For Breakfast

This magnificent Cooper's Hawk perched himself on the roof of my little barn, and sat patiently waiting for something small and furry to show up for breakfast this morning.  He must have sat there for close to half an hour, making two or three investigative swoops down towards the swimming pool, and then returning to his surveillance spot on the edge of the roof.  Eventually, he soared up to the peak of the big tobacco barn, where he was rudely and raucously chased off by four rowdy crows.
