The Lady Chapel

A great day with friends visiting St Albans, which actually I'm very familiar with as I lived in Hatfield as a child and a trip to St Albans with my mum was always a special treat .  However, in recent years, although I have visited regularly to visit family I haven't often been into the centre and had completely forgotten how wonderful the cathedral and Abbey Church is.
We were lucky to arrive in time for a guided tour which was fascinating and we were able to quickly snap a few photos on the way round.  This is the beautiful Lady Chapel which was a much later addition to the church. The extra photo is an angel candlestick holder that was catching the light.
The day was further enhanced by a visit to the Roman Mosaic and a delicious lunch at St Michael's Manor Hotel in the attractive conservatory overlooking their pretty lake...perfect.
