Native Kids Ride Bikes - ArtPrize exhibit

How do we connect young people with their own heritage and culture, when it has been all but submerged by the dominant culture?  Since 2010 Dylan Miner, a native American artist, advocate and educator has worked with Native Michigan youths to create the ongoing series, Native Kids Ride Bikes.  For the project young people decorated the bikes with Native materials and imagery as they learned the roles of transportation and migration in their ancestors lives.
