Ada
I've seen this piece on Blip a couple of times, it's part of the ExtraOrdinary exhibition at the Lowry but I don't understand what makes this an "everyday object in contemporary art" as I can't say I see a giant ball with sticks of charcoal on it every day, or any day to be frank. Also I was missing the link to Ada Lovelace, a Victorian mathematician who worked on Charles Babbage's first computer and said to be the first computer programmer. But that's art for you, often a mystery but a great joy nonetheless.
