another dyke

The city of Duncan has intermittent diking along the Cowichan River. One place has a dyke and another does not. Of course, we have the occasional flood. This week a crew began work on a dyke where the river overflows its banks annually. Water finds its way onto the casino parking lot. Unfortunately Cowichan Tribes built several buildings too close to the river. Not much room to build a dyke there. The dyke is being built on Cowichan Tribes land.
