An open Door.
So, following on from my Facebook rant today......I wasnt allowed to sack the carpenter!
To cut a long, boring storey short, we have been having trouble with the carpenter who is making our front (and back) door. The finish is poor and wonky. Hes not turning up when he's supposed to be then turning up when we arnt expecting him. I had a right old moan on Monday and hoped he might be finally singing from the same song sheet.
Wrong.
One of the requests I had was that he text the night before so we knew what time to expect him. No text last night so no alarm set. I was rudely awoken by a loud knock on the door at 8am. I hate answering the door in my grannie dressing gown!
The second request I made was that he put the last coat of paint on early in the morning so it had time to dry before we had to close the door. When I saw him starting the paining at 2pm this afternoon, I reminded him again of what we spoke about. But he made some excuse and carried on painting and I left for work.
It was at that point that I had really had enough and I had decided I was going to call him tonight and sack him!!! I thought all afternoon what I was going to say. But sadly, Mr W wasnt in agreement! Damn!
Its now 9pm and the front door is still open as it still hasnt dried. Safe?. Not.
But, to give him his due, the window has been reset, the painting looks better, the wall edges have been finished off well and he has already told us what time he will be back tomorrow. But he still hasnt painted the top or bottom of the door - another specific request we made to stop it warping in the winter.
Oh, the stress!!!!
So heres the open door. The door we can't close. The door that will be ruined by closing it. The door that's letting all the heating out the burglars in!! The door I want someone else to finish. The door thats causing alot of stress.
ok, Ill stop now!
xXx
