Cockenzie Chimneys - three days to go
My panorama view this morning shows why I will miss those twin chimneys when they are blown up at noon on Saturday - (or should that be blown down?) They stand 149 metres high and make an excellent focal point on the coastline.
When I drove home from meetings in town today I noticed how they are such an established landmark, even from the city centre. It will be very strange to see them go.
I also thought they looked a bit like a rugby goal post. My meeting, convened by a rugby loving Scot, had been arranged before referring to the RWC fixture list. I caught the final 10 minutes on the car radio. Good for Scotland to click up all those points but a little hard on Japan to have to play again so soon after their epic encounter with South Africa on Saturday!
