Oradour-Sur-Glane

we stopped of here on our way down south to look at the old village. It was destroyed in 1944 and most of the residents massacred. A new village was built nearby and the old one kept as it was as a memorial. This is a view through the windscreen of one of the many old rusting cars there , looking out towards some of the ruined buildings.  Very moving, especially in the church where most of the women and children were killed , but a young woman escaped by jumping out of a high window behind the altar.
