Bringing a smile to your face

They didn't actually - these cayenne peppers we have grown this summer are hot. At least however they are obviously so.
Somewhere in my planting of peppers, I have put in a chilli plant that produces chillies looking identical to our peppers. Eating a pepper dish can therefore have a Russian roulette feel. Tonight was one such example where one of the hot ones slipped through the net and produced an extremely hot dish. Piment de padron - a Galician dish - does the same but I don't remember the hot ones being so hot!
Another reason to smile is that today DS#1 and Charlotte A have gone off to Spain for a few days and we are left alone in the house for the first time since the end of May. At least there is the rugby to watch....
