ALWAYS WHEN I TRAVEL WITH THE RANDSTADRAIL
on a trip further away I leave 10 minutes earlier to have a look in the pond and take when something comes up some pictures.
This morning we left for the journey to the Weser Upland and I took the same time extra to make a picture. The three baby-coots were left alone for a while by their parents. They had 9 babies and they were completely busy to feed them in shifts. Or so it seemed.
It was a trip with many hindrances. When we arrived in Amersfoort for our connection it was announced that there was a severe disturbance and it took us some time before we apprehended that our train was involved too. 30 Minutes late seemed not awkward but it was more when the train arrived.
We discussed before we reached Bad Bentheim if it would be better to change to the local train that we anyway should take in Osnabrück or that we would stay in our IC. Piet Hein opted for the change, I thought that the local would stay behind the IC. Mischa kept quite and read her book.
In Bad Bentheim we changed to the local and then in Rheine it was announced that our local would wait till the IC had arrived and would only departet after the local one. So when the IC came at the platform oposite ours, we left quickly the local and jumped back in the IC.
It could have been a nice scene in a movie.
The next move would be to find permission to stay in the IC till Hannover, much more eastwards, then go south to Göttingen and from there northwest to the Weser Upland. Till now it was a complicated story so I will only tell that we arrived not much later than planned in Karlshafen and that we are tired of all the commotion. But we find here a paradise peace and tomorrow everything will be laughed at, I hope.
My haiku:
One, two, three I count
The baby coots are feeded
They stick together
And the proverb:
Quarrels never could be long,
If on one side only lay the wrong.
