so like do you remember the blitz?
Yep, folks, the one thing you like never want to hear first thing in the morning - especially after spending all that time at the airport would be the following - "hi, we're from the West Midlands Police and you need to be aware of the fact that an unexploded German bomb has been discovered in the area (actually it was a block away, but why quibble) and well, you have to evacuate the premises"
No kidding, you think, - before realizing the sound of sirens and the look of "no-shit Sherlock, we're really serious here" on their faces - and so yeah, we gotta get up out of here sister and it would best be if we did so now!
So we left, took the Volvo on a tour of the East Midlands and wondered why it took over 70 years to find that sucker. I mean everything short of the cemetery was built after the war so why now?
Judging by the news reports, it was a whooper of a bomb as well (allegedly painted "Sky Blue" and called "Hermann") over a tonne in fact
Interesting way to start our first day back to say the least
Anyway, yesterday, before departing Rome, we took a wander about the train station and that's where the photos are from
So like the bomb went BOOM late in the evening and all was well.
