Downpour Day
Living in New Mexico means it does not rain often. When it does it is very exciting for all 7 minutes of it. We had a beautiful early rainfall before the sun even rose this morning which was when I took this picture. However, the fun didn't really start until almost exactly 3:00 PM. We had the hardest downpour on record for 7 minutes. It consisted of rain, hail, and snow at the school I am working at. In fact, it rained so hard in such a short time that it flooded into my classroom. Teaching first graders has its many challenges, but I think the most difficult is to get them to listen and focus when rain water is coming into our classroom. It was complete bedlam. What started out as a beautiful morning has resulted in me with my feet up and a beer in my hand. Is it Friday yet?
