Exciting Cake!!

I spent quite a lot of yesterday evening making this for G as he was coming today and it was his birthday on sunday. I knew it would be good but not quite this exciting!! How much fun is this!! I love making exciting cakes!!!

We went to Chapter Arts Centre and watched Moonrise Kingdom in their cool little cinema bit and then went into town for dinner. We were planning on using tesco vouchers but they didn't make it on time so we ended up being lured into this rather posh Thai restaurant by the false advertising outside that suggested it was a pretty standard priced place. I cottoned on pretty quick when i saw 'such and such set menu, £21.50 per person' while G spent about 10 minutes browsing the menu and telling me 'that's pretty good though, i think that's the best deal..' with me saying 'really?? I think we could just choose a few of the cheapest dishes and it would be much less...'. Eventually i said 'you do realise that's £21.50 each don't you?' and understanding dawned across his face. He briefly considered making a dash for it but it was already late and raining and the waiter appeared and i don't like embarrassing myself in public places so instead we stayed and enjoyed every mouthful! And G tried his best to embarrass me by stealing the left over prawn cracker things from a next door table when the couple had gone, thank goodness nobody saw him.
