Deafening Silence.

The strong natural sounds of the wind blowing over this island bring a deep and wonderful stillness in the moment.
There is the haunting sound of birdsongs and the sound of the geese flying low overhead ,their wings beating the air;
The strong leaves of the wild iris rustle and sound of sheep calling to each other.
The never ending motion of the waves whooshing on the shore.
I am so grateful to have found these beautiful wilderness spaces .

Pablo Picasso said that ' Art washes away the dust of every day life ' . Yes - and natural beauty like this blocks out the trivial and everyday priorities which crowd in too much.

This was taken from the causeway at Benbecula . I drove through South Uist and Eriskay to take the ferry to Barra when I am staying tonight.
