Only 2% of gladiators survived. The Vestal Virgins, once they'd done their 30-year skint learning and teaching, got the best seats. Lots of blood and gore, but not, apparently, Christians thrown to the wild beasts. Nowadays, just tourists like us milling through, though from time to time there is a big concert in here. Goodness knows how they do the seating.
