It is still so hard to imagine that the World Trade Center attacks actually happened in this city. Of course I know it, very well, but then to connect the dots in my head always falters. Each year, the events are remembered with two light beams, sent into the sky at the locations of the original two towers. We went to view them and remember at Roosevelt island, around the corner of our house.
