A Dismal Afternoon

Having seen this particular installation time and again in the media and on the 'net, it still had a morbid fascination. It wasn't the easiest scene to capture either, given the darkness, the strobe flashes and the hand-held camera. Still, I recall that night eighteen years ago as the news came in... 

For those not in the know, we went to Dismaland, an art exhibition by Banksy and others in Weston-Super-Mare, at the site of the old Tropicana Lido where once we swam. Tickets were deliberately hard to get, but we simply walked up on spec and got in after only 45 minutes queueing... you'd queue longer for the other theme park, eh.
