After the rain

.. a quick dash out to the shops and a walk on Matley Moor.

It was wonderful to see the countryside revealed as the clouds lifted mid afternoon and watch a Kestrel hunting ( I made a complete mess of trying to photograph it but to be fair it was very active and never did hover anywhere near us).

Its Dad's birthday - he is 89. It has made me think about living to that age. The changes in the world have been amazing (mostly good) and many of the changes in the way we live have been in the last 20 years.. and even more in the last 10 years and is it just me or even more in the last 5 years. Dad coped well for a long time but in the last decade it has been harder for him to keep up with change.  Its a challenge anyone living to that kind of age will face. If I live that long will the developments to help the elderly make it easier for me? - I doubt it - I guess its all down to individual health and luck.
