Walking home the tups
Shaw (Pips mum) walking back the tups at the farm where we manage the livestock. We were meant to be gathering today but the mist was down and since this gather is the tallest we do we knew it wouldn't clear in time. It was fortunate as it gave us plenty of time to get together the wedders (castrated males) for the abattoir tomorrow. We have two riggs (males with a retained ball) from this farm going, they had been living with the tups so they all came up to the fank to be sorted. The tups got a good check over a fluke dose and some pour on for fly strike and ticks.
We then went back to our own farm and got in our tups and wedders and did the same. Shaw was very privileged at getting to be the only dog on the job today. She is great for putting steady pressure on sheep so they don't question her authority and sometimes the tups can be a little bold and pushy, but not with Shaw! I have to laugh as she is the smallest of our dogs but makes up for it in attitude! Cant believe she is nearly 8 already!
12c showers sometimes quite heavy.
Thank you all so much for all the hearts and stars for my two headed calf picture. Sorry I haven't replied in thanks to you all individually!!
