Circle of slime

Everyone'a talking about the inevitable September spider invasion into our homes, and they are supposedly bigger and badder this year. 

Bah.

Try having a kitchen that has openings somewhere big enough for slugs to squeeze through and dine on any leftover food they find around. They are not only weirdly patterned (as you can see they are kind of camouflaged or stripey and ginger) and huge (the biggest I found in the kitchen so far was longer than the palm of my hand and as thick as a thumb) but also decided to have sleepovers in kitchen's nooks and crannies now...

And the cats don't touch them. I wonder if maybe spiders are sending them as a revenge for all their eaten comrades.
