Disaster averted
We had a bit of a scare at the Museum recently, as one of the forms for the concrete piers to support the green roof pavilion gave out during the pour. Fortunately, the all-hands-on-deck emergency bracing effort produced satisfying results, and we have us 4 piers at the end. Here it is, the troublemaker, only a bit lumpy and uneven.
The lumps don't affect the structural properties of the pier, and as most of it will go below the concrete slab of the pavilion, it won't stand out aesthetically either.
Socrates saved the day once again, I might add, coming in right after the averted disaster begun and making sure all went smoothly afterwords.
