Sparrow Hawk, I think!

We couldn't believe our  eyes this morning when we looked out of the kitchen window and saw this beautiful bird of prey sat looking in at us.

We see these birds in the fields by us quite often but never in our own garden.  However, he must be a regular visitor because he was obviously very much aware of the number of birds that come to feed.

He took off as quick as lightening to grab one of the coal tit family when they appeared but he missed them, thankfully!  Not so lucky for him though on this occasion.
