Almabtrieb

Cow festival! An Austria tradition in which the cows are bought down from the mountains to the lower pastures for the winter. The floral head dresses are a sign of thanks for a good year. They are amazing really, they're not real flowers but instead all made from crete paper! It was a really good day full of festivities and plenty of cows!

The sound of the cow bells as they walk past is really loud, but melodic. You certainly knew when they were on there way!
