Fetch!

Today is my birthday so Piper and her Dad took me for a walk at Golden Ponds.  It was a beautiful day in the high 70s without a cloud in the sky.  Piper decided to go for a swim and we just happened to have her long rope with us so she was able to paddle around to her heart's content.  There is a strict leash law here, and besides, we rarely let her off leash.  She's just to precious to us!  She's a pretty smart girl but fetching is not in her bag of tricks.  We've tried sticks but she just lets them float away.  She does, however, like to chase rocks that we through into the water.  In this shot she was well over her head in the water and just vaulted out to go after the splash made by the rock.  I've included several extras from her swim.  As much as she loves the water, she was less than thrilled about having a bath when we got home.

We'll be going out to dinner soon so I may not have time to get to journals tonight and tomorrow is a big day, we're meeting  V1k1 and the Forester at Rocky Mountain National Park.  Should be great fun!  I promise to catch up with journals in the next few days.  :-)
