More new pets...

We had a friend over for lunch today to celebrate her birthday. She brought some Milkweed seed pods from her garden to show me. She hangs them on her plant pots and they look just like little parrots.  I wasn’t familiar with the plant - I had to look up the translation and the details. They are apparently native to USA and attract bees and butterflies, particularly the Monarch butterfly. They have lovely flowers and silky hairs attached to the seeds which are used by nesting birds. It sounds like a great plant to have in the garden but I want to check first that it is not an invasive weed seeing that it is not a native and apparently grows everywhere around here. 

By the way, we haven’t seen our little fledermaus (bat) again.
