Power Cut, wonderful day!
Strange title I hear you say! I was woken at 6ish by Mr Lala who was on the early shift today. He woke me by shindig his phone in my face to ask where I had put the torches when we moved in! We had a power cut! Torches located, he had a wash in cold water, ate some bread and marmalade for breakfast. Meanwhile I used my phone to go online and find the current way of reporting a power cut. I have to say they provide an awesome service.
Once I had given my details and chosen to be updated by text, I received the updates hourly, even proving me with a video to watch of what had to be done to restore our power due to broken cable.
We had planned to meet friends at a restaurant in the early afternoon once Mr L head returned from work so,
Once I had walked Dog, washed floors, dusted and polished I went to get ready. Now I realised the exactly what no power meant. I boiled some pans of water to have a wash (no shower because it's a lovely power shower that needs power)!! And to wash my hair. I discovered that thankfully my hair dries ok naturally! Not too much frizz! With an hour to spare, what to do? Still no power. I picked up my book, headed for the garden and enjoyed an hour of uninterrupted peace and quiet and reading. What pleasure! It's ages since I had the time without being tired to read.
The power returned at around 2pm, just before we set off. We had a lovely afternoon, it seems ages since we saw our friends and we all had lots to catch up on. Back to ours for coffee and the obligatory guided tour of new house. The restaurant is the one we went to for Mr L's birthday and the food was again delicious. I do hope more friends decide to come visit so we have an excuse to go again!
A lovely relaxing Sunday.
