Death in the Afternoon

Shortly after this picture was taken there was a rustle in the undergrowth then a sprinting rabbit with a young red fox in close pursuit ran the race of its life across the path.

How did it end?

Did the rabbit find a burrow or did the fox enjoy a hot lunch?

My guess is the fox had lunch and the rabbits end was mercyfully quick.
