Piatra Craiului National Park

Today we headed away from the city of Buxharest into the picturesque region of Transylvania - home to the Carpathian Mountains, Piatra Craiului mountains, bears, wolves and of course the man whom Dracula myths were based on - Vlad the Impaler!

We arrived into the mountain village of Magura by mid afternoon after two train journeys and a local car pickup. Our room had a private balcony overlooking the mountains and a bathtub bigger than Ben Hur!

C. and I strolled down the road late this afternoon and were greeted by this magnificent view only ten minutes from where we are staying!
