Treshnish Isles

We did the 8km round walk from the cottage. By the hay fields, the other cottages and blackhouses, the rocky shore and its basalt (?) tableland. Sea eagle, raven, kestrel, rock pipit, wheatear, red deer. Distant views of Coll, Tiree, Staffa, Iona, Ulva, Gometra and from the tops long views north to Ardnamurchan, Eigg, Rhum and Muck and maybe Skye (see Extras).

These are the Treshnish Isles and a passing yacht. Sun flitted in and out and rain forecast for tomorrow but we feel already blessed - yesterday one of the standout days of sun in the grim summer. 

Our ideas about living in the Borders are taking a bit of a pounding today.
