Juvenile Chaffinch

I hope I've identified this bird correctly, he looks very much like a Yellowhammer apart from his crown feathers which are still a bit sparse.

I had another trip over to RSPB Old Moor today, and was there before they opened up (me and another couple who couldn't wait to get started ).  My reason for being early was that I didn't have all that much time and needed to get back home, but oh how I could have stayed all day.  It's been the perfect September day, bright sun, trees just beginning to turn, bird song and the calmness that looking out over water sometimes brings.

I've got it in mind that I'd like to blip a Kingfisher and I keep hanging around the reed bed screen but to date I've had no luck;   as I was leaving I had a quick look in the kitchen garden where I saw several of these birds and luckily managed to blip this one perched on the spade.

Edit:-  Correction to my original title (Juvenile Yellowhammer)  I have been assured by blipper ChrisF that this little character is actually a Juvenile Chaffinch  - sorry for misleading you.  :-))
