Across the water

I can't remember actually posting this view before.

Apart from the bits that are a part of me, this is the closest bit of Hamburg to home. Taken from the top of the dunes immediately in front of the house. I've resorted to some zoom, but not a lot. The building on the left is the Russ Ness Kirk about half a mile away.

I'd just been for a morning constitutional along the beach toward Newark farm, picking up my three pieces of bruck for the day. When I stopped to take the photograph, the wreck beckoned me.

Grabbed a paddle and the kayak, hit the water and made my way over to it, past seals and cormorants. The tide was rising so I was able to glide up close to it and then between the two turbines. Awesome!

The wind picked up for the paddle home, into the teeth of it. It raised some excellent little breakers to smash against the bow and over the 'deck'. That's enough fun for one day. Now I just want to be dry.
