Rose

Complicated plans always result in complications, it would seem. A very heavy piano keyboard  was dropped off here by Annie's mother, who lives in Sea Ranch, for Annie's condo in Solana Beach (Southern California). Since Annie and her family have returned to Italy, it fell to one of us to take it down there. Rick, who was in Stockton decided to drive over here and get it, but had second thoughts on the way and decided that since he had to be back in Stockton next week, he would fly home from Santa Rosa, leaving his car here and fly back next week. So now we have the car AND the piano!

It seemed to be a very complicated process to schedule a flight using a voucher he had from last month's flight which was cancelled indefinitely. It took both of us, one to read off the long string of numbers on the voucher, and one to record it on the ticket request, but he finally got his reservation.

Today we planned various activities around a 2:30 departure time, only to discover that the flight was delayed two hours…perhaps he'll get another voucher for a free flight when they cancel this one.

Santa Rosa is a tiny airport and very convenient as long as the one flight a day to San Diego departs on schedule…a rare occurrence.

My flower for today's Flower Friday offering is a Coretta Scott King rose. OilMan put a dose of Miracle Grow on our potted rose plants, and as far as Coretta was concerned, it was a miracle. She shot up a single, very tall cane, topped by a bunch of blossoms which looked very pretty against the blue sky. I decided the effort was worth a shot. with the light shining through her petals. Thanks, Biker Bear.
