Day three of the staycation except we didn't stay, we drove up the A9 to Pitlochry where I was treated to lunch at Fonab Castle, and very good it was too. Afterwards we took a wander down to the Festival Theatre in the hope of getting tickets to see Bennett's play The Lady in the Van. Unfortunately, or luckily depending on you're point of view, it wasn't showing until Friday so I suppose I'll just have to go and see the film instead – if I remember by the time it hits the screens up here.
Afterwards, back to the digs to dream of the full Scottish breakfast waiting for me in the morning.
The extra photos are taken from the top of the dam on the river Tummel showing the pretty side with Loch Faskally in the foreground and the business, grungy side downstream. The dam has a salmon ladder that allows over 5,000 salmon every year to make their way past the dam to their spawning grounds – and on to the end of a fishing line too no doubt.
