Something missing

Dragonflies are symbols of the Summer Solstice for me. This Solstice has brought summer temperatures to us here in the Bog, along with a large number of dragonflies. They are loving it. Dragonflies are considered cold blooded and will normally seek the sunny spots, but on hot, sunny days they seek shade. When I was out on my walk, they were still enjoying the sun although spending a little time here on there in a shady spot.

This particular dragonfly is missing a piece of his left lower wing. It didn't seem to phase him a bit. He was flitting around as actively as all the rest of the dragonflies.
