A midland town

there's been a lot going on this week to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain

this is a memorial piece dedicated to the victims of the Birmingham Blitz which began in August 1940

the monument was crafted by Lorenzo Quinn son of Anthony Quinn the actor

The title is because back in the day the strategic importance of the industry in the area meant that bomb damage was reported as being in "A Midland Town" to cover up the truth

these were the days when BSA were the Birmingham Small Arms business rather than motorcycle manufacturers
