Red sky at night

Red sky at night, shepherds delight. Or, as they used to say around here - Red sky at night, the cows are alight.

The lergy has somewhat abated, albeit I'm still stuck with 'abirrovacoff' - which for those non-midlands folk translates as 'a bit of a cough'. But this is fine, as long as I get my singing voice back by the weekend all is good.

I had a total 'nother blip planned today, after a drama unfolded at a specialist TVR repair garage went up in flames not 2 minutes walk from where I live. Heartbreaking stuff. I love TVRs, and we have them driving round the village all the time - that unmistakeable 5 ltr throaty roar of the Chimaera and occasional 7ltr Tuscan being warmed up makes me squeal like a giddy schoolgirl. So when the flames and smoke appeared off we trotted, camera in hand, thinking I'll take a shot at some photojournalism.

But ultimately I was scuppered on two fronts. One, they wouldn't let us near the place, and two, the AF on my long lens recently died, and thusly, that was that.

But as luck would have it. When we got back, I was struck by this scene from the front door. A much more colourful version of this blip from last week. Had to be done.

And I think from today the saying might well be changed round our parts. Red sky at night, the TVRs are alight.
