Heavy Downpour

Yesterday's downpour meant that I could capture this shot of the lawn, early this morning, using a kneeling mat and my tripod a couple of inches off the ground.

After yet another busy day, I thought I'd take the dogs for a longer walk than usual and found a fantastic spot for bramble picking. It's never been as heavily laden as it is this year, so I used a plastic bag ( always carry one, as you never know!) to fill with the blackberries. The dogs were pooped very patient and so I was able to fill the bag.

Feeling quite pleased with myself, I gathered up the camera bag, dog leads and blackberries and made my way back home. It was at this point that Fionne decided she would have a 'mad five minutes'. She started charging full pelt past me, swerving at the very last minute to avoid a collision. The idea is to stand very still, as you can never judge which way she'll veer. It was on her third fly past that she misjudged distances and hit the bag of brambles. She carried on running, whilst the bag split wide open and the whole lot flew 10 feet into the air. I was showered with the entire contents of the bag. I tried picking them out of the grass but gave up. I threatened Fionne that I shall swop her for a chihuahua if she doesn't start behaving.

Now I'm sat stained with juice. I've got scratches from the thorns, nettle stings all over my hands, arms and legs and not even enough blackberries to make a crumble.
