Too good to last ...

After all the wonderful late summer weather the rain came during the afternoon.

I got wet walking back from taking my bike to the repair shop for an upgrade - new chain and cogs - £££ !

My day began early with a presentation to 16 year olds at one of the excellent Edinburgh Community High Schools. A morning of work meetings followed but we still had time to swim at lunch time.

Looking forward to some old fashioned non-work travels over the weekend.

My blip shows the view of the sea from Portobello's main street.  The new pedestrian crossing, here, was commissioned within 48 hours of the completion of the groundwork.

Less clever is the rash of roadworks on all the main routes into the city from the seaside. Not sure why they all have to happen at the same time.
We can, of course, take the new train into the city but the trains are only two carriages long and absolutely packed at peak times. Scotrail's response, apparently, is surprise that the newly extended Borders line is so popular?!!
