Highly recommended

In my 20's I enjoyed reading about the opium influenced Lakeland poets. And here is Byron's daughter who is way ahead of her (allowed) time, clearly capable but held back by being a woman. Her mother fears she will 'injure herself through mathematical study'
I wonder how much further on we'd be if women had always been treated equally.
