Belted Kingfisher

Even though it was raining I had plenty of time for a walk today and left the camera behind.....

Saw this magnificent bird and had to go back and get the camera and figured I would just give it some TLC afterwords to dry it out.

Lucky me he/she stayed there to take this photo. He/she was in tree looking over the Clearwater river. Once I was spotted he/she took off.

And yes I followed. The two extras are of the same bird in different locations different lighting. 

Lesson learned. Put the camera in a hurricane proof bag beacuse you never know. This was almost a story of the one that got away
