The nervous wait

I had a little filling put in today, my first since childhood and I was not looking forward to it! Pleased to say i barely felt a thing. My new dental practice has a lovely friendly and reassuring atmosphere. This can be a slight curse when anaesthetised though. Particularly when the nice receptionist is making repeated attempts at friendly conversation post treatment and you realise you can't currently feel your own mouth let alone string a sentence together. I also discovered 'shifts' is a very difficult word to pronounce with a numb tongue.
