I stand at the shore
the cries of the sea cause me agony
and I look out into the horizon
curiously allowing the waves to
gently cleanse my feet
it is a rather, pleasant feeling.
As I dip my thick thighs into the ocean
a girl - fat, short-haired and with glasses
appears at the back of my mind
reminding me things I don't even want to remember
I try to wash her away with the salty brine
As I dip, deeper
into the ocean

Ignorance is bliss
once the tide swallows you whole
there is no turning back
you won't ever forget
how the ocean almost tasted toxic
or how afraid you were of the uncertainty within the darkness
